Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, yesterday said there are no identified suppliers of party drugs, such as liquid ecstasy, operating in the city.
She also noted there currently is no monitoring for such substances as it is not as prevalent as shabu. However, she did not disregard the possibility of party drugs being smuggled in and urged the public to report such cases.
Vargas added, those who use such drugs are typically among a “high-end class” of people.
The police spokesperson described the effects of liquid ecstasy as similar to another drug known as flakka, which is prevalent in the United States. She said the drug is more dangerous as it increases the heart rate and can trigger heart attacks./DGB, WDJ
