During a recent courtesy call on Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. by members of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), the governor told law enforcement personnel to improve service in light of the recent pay raise granted by President Rodrigo Duterte.
He urged police to never engage in illegal activity and to “do what is right,” with the Philippine National Police (PNP) returning to the frontlines of the war on illegal drugs.
With regard to police officers found to be involved with illegal drugs, the governor called on them to stop.
However, Marañon said he believes increased pay will not end the problem of corruption within the PNP./DGB, WDJ
