A boarding house was gutted in a late evening blaze at Purok 13 in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, Monday.
Based on an official report from the Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), they received a call around 8:30 p.m. from 50-year-old Reynaldo Serrano, who reported a fire at the said establishment.
The BFP-Bacolod, along with various fire volunteer groups, rushed to the scene and quelled the blaze within minutes.
Arson investigators determined the blaze started on the second floor, which is comprised of three rooms occupied by six people, all of whom work at various call center firms.
An overheated appliance inside one of the rooms is being considered a possible source of the fire.
There are no injuries reported in the blaze./DGB, WDJ
