Ceres FC takes to the pitch in Myanmar today

By Jerome S. Galunan, Jr.

Ceres-Negros FC will meet Myanmar National League champions Shan United FC in the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League qualifying play-offs this afternoon at the Taunggyi Stadium with kickoff time scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (local Philippine time).

Ceres team manager James Dinsay admitted the players had a “short preparation time” for the match but said he has “huge faith” in their ability to deliver.

Several of the club’s new signings are expected to make their debut, including goalkeeper Antonio ‘Toni’ Doblas, midfielder Mike Ott, defender Sean Patrick Kane, and striker Takumi Uesato.

“We hope that Uesato and Bienvenido Marañón will connect with the system and deliver more fire power for Ceres FC,” said assistant coach Pepe Losada.

The winner of the playoff match advances to the second preliminary round, where they will meet A-League club Brisbane Roar on January 23./JSG, WDJ
