A house owned by a widow was reportedly burglarized by unidentified suspects at Purok Paglaum, Barangay Alicante in EB Magalona, early Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as 41-year-old Cheryl Panes.
EB Magalona police said Panes visited their station after she discovered her home had been ransacked by an undetermined number of robbers.
An investigation by police revealed the suspects entered the residence by detaching the padlock door at the southern part of the house.
Once inside, suspects carted away with two laptops, four mobile phones, an SLR camera, a power bank, and cash.
Police estimated value of the stolen items to be P112,500.
A further search also recovered a 9-inch long knife, which police determined to have been used by the suspects to pry open the house’s door.
A concerned citizen also came forward and turned over the victim’s power bank, which was believed to have been accidentally left behind by the suspects during their get away.
EB Magalona police are presently investigating the identities of the suspects./DGB, WDJ
