Dajao: A P35 increase is not enough to buy a bottle of water

The Negros Occidental Alliance for Concerned Teachers (ACT) recently expressed their disappointment with the pay raises proposed by President Rodrigo Duterte, noting the increased prices on commodities by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law makes the extra pay insufficient.
According to ACT-Negros Occidental chair, Dr. Gualberto Dajao, the P35 per day increase is not enough to buy a bottle of water.
However, he said the group would prefer the approval of House Bill 56, which stipulates teachers receive a salary of P35,000 per month minimum./DGB, WDJ
