Sports events scheduled

The annual Dinagsa Festival, scheduled to begin on Saturday, January 13, in Cadiz City, and expected to run until January 28, will include a variety of sporting events.

Bayabas Elementary School will host a two-day football festival beginning on opening day, while the Cadiz City Grandstand will also be hosting a futsal tournament.

On the following Saturday, January 20, events will include the Mountain Bike Circuit Challenge, a frisbee event, the Mayor Patrick G. Escalante Motocross Invitational, the start of a two-day archery competition, and the Dinagsa Chess Tournament.

The subsequent Friday, January 26, is the Paralympiada, an event at the Cadiz City Grandstand for differently-abled persons; while an acrobatic show takes place that afternoon at the Cadiz City Arena.

The Cadiz 21K Half Marathon, which will feature 21K, 10K, and 5K divisions, is also scheduled to begin on January 27, a day before the festival closes./JSG, WDJ
