Mansinares: One restroom to be constructed in each district
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) has set aside P500 million intended for infrastructure projects leading to tourism sites across Negros Occidental.
Provincial Tourism Officer Christine Mansinares yesterday provided a list of projects, which included paving projects like the Mailum-Pataan Road in Bago City, which leads to the Tinago Mountain Resort; and the Imbang San Fernando-Tunangan Road, which leads to the Campuestohan Highlands Resort. Widening of the Bacolod South National Road, which leads to several Sipalay City resorts, is also among the projects.
The tourism officer noted, funding would be released in phases between this year and 2022.
Aside from road projects, Mansinares said they are also considering the construction of restrooms, with each of the province’s six districts expected to receive one facility.
She also expects a large turnout for the annual Panaad sa Negros Festival, which is scheduled to take place from April 14 to 22./DGB, WDJ
