After earlier listing his accomplishments since assuming the position of Iloilo City mayor three months ago, following an extended period of time spent abroad by his predecessor, dismissed Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently called on the city government to focus on innovation in 2018.
“Innovations must be something that can enhance the way we serve the people,” he said. “This is how we want to begin the year.”
The mayor has since directed 23 City Hall departments to present new programs for this year.
“Each department must think of new ideas, [processes], or anything that they haven’t done in the past,” Espinosa explained. “We need to help each other in order for us to make our city more competitive and better place to live in.”
Meanwhile, the mayor also revealed the latest disbursement from the Salary Standardization Law released recently.
“We hope that the salary increase will help our City Hall employees with their everyday expenses,” he said.
According to Human Resource Management Office Department Head Leo Elevencione, city employee salary increases begin this month./PLL, WDJ
