Defending champion Ceres La Salle FC currently tops the competition in the ongoing 2nd Sagay Men’s Open Championships at Sagay National High School after winning their first two matches in the tournament, defeating University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) FC, 4-0, and the Sagay North Negros football team, 2-0.
Ceres beat UNO-R FC in their opening match with Kjay Gedor scoring a brace, along with Regie Brenn Cisneros and Ilemona Usman each adding a goal; while Tristan Kit Robles and Klent Guevarra led the victory over Sagay North Negros.
Sagay North Negros currently maintains a record of one win, one draw, and one loss; while Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) and Villa Angela FC follow with a win and a draw each.
The Negros Selection, meanwhile, lost both to AdMU and Villa Angela./JSG, WDJ
