The Department of Health (DOH) called on parents to refrain from giving firecrackers to their children as such devices may cause injury and possibly death.

In the event of injury, DOH explained wounds should be washed clean with soap and water, along with an immediate visit to a physician to receive an anti-tetanus shot.

The government agency also promoted community fireworks displays instead of personal firecracker and pyrotechnics use./WDJ
