A senior was killed by a motorcycle while crossing the national highway at Crossing Pinoy in Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, Thursday evening.

The fatality was identified as 65-year-old Myrna Rofano, a resident of the said area.

An investigation showed the victim was walking home when she crossed the highway and was struck by a motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Jaren Gonzaga, a resident of Sitio Sia-lay in Barangay Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Both Rofano and Gonzaga were unconscious after the incident.

The two were brought to the Sipalay City Infirmary for medical treatment, however Rofano was declared dead on arrival.

Gonzaga, meanwhile, was confined at the infirmary./NC, WDJ
