Reloj: The two are under surveillance by municipal police

By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

In response to Moises Padilla municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Alan Reloj, recently claiming the town’s Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo and her husband Felix Mathias Yulo are on their municipal drug watchlist and currently under surveillance by their station, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., yesterday affirmed the two are not on the provincial drug watchlist.

According to Castil, the suspected drugs recovered from the vice mayor’s vehicle, along with Garcia-Yulo herself, both tested negative. Test results, however, are currently undergoing confirmatory tests.

He has also ordered separate investigations to look into claims by both sides.

Castil added, he has yet to see any evidence linking the vice mayor to the New People’s Army (NPA).

Earlier, Castil assigned former Cadiz City Police Station chief, Police Superintendent Edel Jose Manzano, who was earlier named in the supplemental Ricky Serenio affidavit, to lead an investigation into the arrest of Garcia-Yulo at a police checkpoint in Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla earlier this week.

A search of her vehicle yielded several firearms, two grenades, and the sachet of suspected shabu.

The vice mayor admitted to owning one of the firearms, but claimed the other guns, grenades, and the suspected drugs were planted by police./DGB, WDJ
