Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) recently released new guidelines as the Philippine National Police (PNP) prepares to return to the campaign against illegal drugs.
Included among the new procedures is a community-selected Drug Enforcement Unit/Team, wherein selected individuals will undergo training; along with refresher courses on police operational procedure, human rights, evidence handling, among other topics.
In addition, the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will jointly re-validate watchlist personalities.
The guidelines came in response to the memorandum by President Rodrigo Duterte ordering the PNP to resume anti-illegal drug operations./NC, WDJ
