The Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV) basketball team celebrated their first Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) men’s basketball title with a surprise reward trip to Boracay.

Co-team manager Paul Oliver Cruz said the Boracay trip was a prize for the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice made throughout the year.

“The whole team deserved it,” he said. “Right after the awarding ceremony, the team travelled to Boracay to celebrate.”

“We stayed at the Discovery Shores Boracay from November 25 to 28,” Cruz added. “Also joining us [on] that trip were some members of [the] Sta. Ana Board of Trustees and management.”

The team’s other co-team manager, Paulo Cruz, expressed his appreciation for those who supported the team.

“We would also like to thank Coach Troy Saravia, who assembled the team; my brother Paul; and Coach John Imperio,” Cruz said. “Also our gratitude to RPC Petroleum Group, Pura Vida Dive Resort, Role Credit, and Finance Corporation who bankrolled the team.”

The team is scheduled to be honored today at the school.

The championship team was comprised of Reymart Carano, John Valdez, Christian Montepio, John Loyd Licawan, Joseph Yoro, Vladimir Pangantihan, John Egat, Sean Sajo, Billy Rojo, Carl Magbanua, Jeric Adorio, Junior Essakadoualla, and Jeffrey Manday./WDJ
