Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, yesterday said his office is currently finalizing preparations for ‘Simbang Gabi,’ a nine-day tradition practiced by Catholics and Aglipayans, scheduled to begin on December 16.
Ebreo said police stations across the city will be concentrating deployments at various places of worship in the city.
He also stated, they are expecting an augmentation force from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), intended to boost the number of police officers at BCPO police stations.
Aside from churches, Ebreo stated deployment plans will also cover other places of convergence such as shopping malls, transport terminals, and public markets.
He has also instructed station commanders to send out, not only the augmentation forces, but their regular personnel.
Ebreo added, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Red Team, a group of auditors, will also routinely conduct rounds at police stations throughout the city to make sure they are following the city’s deployment plans throughout the holiday period./DGB, WDJ
