A furniture shop was reportedly robbed by three unidentified individuals yesterday morning at Marapara Heights in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.
Police identified the victim as 51-year-old Greg Cuaycong, a resident of the said barangay.
Police Station 3 (PS3) commander, Police Senior Inspector Jun Ray Batadlan, said the three armed robbers surprised the establishment’s security guard, who was allegedly sleeping on the job, by taking his .38 caliber service firearm.
The suspects, armed with a .45 caliber pistol and a shotgun, tied the guard’s hands and ordered the establishment’s workers on the second floor to go downstairs.
The robbers went on to force their way into the main office by destroying the door’s padlock and taking all the valuables they could find before leaving the crime scene.
Batadlan said the suspects carted away two wristwatches owned by Cuaycong.
He added, they are now eyeing several leads into the incident and are presently probing possibilities the robbery was an “inside job.”/DGB, WDJ
