No word on flooding situation at Bugasong relocation site

Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao is scheduled to conduct inspections of an unoccupied housing project in Barangay Guia, Pandan, alongside officials from the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Provincial Housing Board (PHB).
Last month, the governor called attention to the matter since the area, which houses thousands of residential units, is still without running water and electricity.
National Housing Authority (NHA) Project Manager Ma. Luz Ysatam claimed the lack of facilities is why the completed housing units remain unoccupied.
However, contractors claim there has been a lack of coordination with local utility providers.
Meanwhile, there was no word on the status of the unfinished Yolanda relocation site in Bugasong, which experienced devastating flooding last month.
The local chapter of Kilusang Pagbabago (Movement for Change) earlier conducted a study where they found an NHA project bulldozed portions of Barangay Lacayon and reclaimed four creeks, resulting in an amplified flooding situation.
At the time, residents reported Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino, who was designated as rehabilitation czar last year, had yet to visit the area./PLL, WDJ
