According to a report by the Philippines News Agency (PNA), the Department of Education (DepEd) clarified make-up classes are not exclusively for the weekends, but can be done by adding to regular school hours.
DepEd Bureau of Curriculum Development Director IV Jocelyn Andaya is quoted in the piece explaining, “Make-up classes could be done by adding one to two hours per day in the class.”
Recently, classes were suspended in La Castellana, Negros Occidental when students reported smelling sulfur, suspected to be coming from Mt. Kanloan, which is currently under an ‘Alert Level 2.’
Back in October, classes were suspended nationwide due to the planned transport strike following a memorandum circular issued by President Rodrigo Duterte ordering the suspension, which included all levels at both public and private schools./PLL, WDJ
