The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) yesterday ordered the prohibition of weapons at KTV bars and beer houses.
According to NOPPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, the order seeks to reduce the number of violent crimes, including shootings and stabbings, which are often triggered by intoxication.
He noted, police chiefs throughout the province have also been ordered to post tarpaulins to remind patrons firearms and bladed weapons are not allowed on premises.
“We are appealing to the public to cooperate and coordinate with us because all of us will benefit in this campaign,” the NOPPO chief urged.
He further encouraged the public to cooperate, saying it will help make Negros Occidental a safe place to live, work, and do business./DGB, WDJ
