The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Investor Information Seminar at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), yesterday, saw 145 participants attend the event.
“We wanted Bacolod to have a climate conducive for business to grow,” said Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who addressed those gathered. “I believe that the more corporations we have, the more it would indicate that there is more dynamism and progress, and development is naturally going to follow.”
Meanwhile, SEC Commissioner Emilio Aquino provided lectures on the role of the SEC-Gender and Development division in the capital market, microfinance and lending, investment scams, investment products, and the Company Registration System (CRS); while Provincial Council for Women chair, Atty. Andrea Lizares-Si, discussed sexual harassment.
A second seminar is scheduled to take place today, November 17, at the MassKara Hall of the BCGC from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At least 150 registered for Friday’s session./WDJ
