Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III, alongside Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, city councilors, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD), among others, recently signed a commitment to keep young people safe from gangs and illegal drugs, a part of the 25th National Children’s Month observance.

“Our main role is to help in preventing the minors and youth from doing unsafe activities,” said ICPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Shella Mae Sangrines.

“We, together with CSWDO (City Social Welfare and Development Office) social workers, started working with Project BONG, or Bringing Order to the Nemesis of Gangs, earlier this year,” she added.

The project addresses the issue of minors and gangs./WDJ
