The University of St. La Salle (USLS) recently won the ladies’ chess competition of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) meet at the STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU) library.
The team comprised of Herrera Kristel Shayne, Mailyn Cabungcag, Erl Ulette Martinez, and Karen Joy Anoran beat out the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R), who came in second, and third place STI-WNU.
As of press time, UNO-R leads the men’s division, Bacolod Tay Tung High School leads the elementary competition, and STI-WNU leads the secondary division./JSG, WDJ
