Ceres Liner parent company Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) yesterday revealed plans to file robbery charges against the suspects who allegedly robbed one of their buses in Manapla, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
VTI media relations officer Jade Seballos said they will file robbery charges against two of three suspects, who are identified as 26-year-old Gabriel Constantino and 24-year-old Marco Parcon, both residents of Barangay Tortosa of the said town.
Seballos stated they want the charges to serve as a warning to other criminal elements who plan on robbing other buses.
She pointed out, the safety of passengers is one of their top priorities and lauded the Manapla municipal police for their swift action in arresting the suspects.
However, Seballos added, police should always maintain visibility, especially in dark areas where a robbery could likely take place.
Last Sunday evening, Constantino, Parcon, and a third suspect, who has yet to be identified, allegedly held-up a Ceres bus along the national highway in Bangga Ibus, Barangay Tortosa.
The suspects carted away almost P7,000 worth of cash and several electronic gadgets owned by the bus’ crew and the passengers.
Both Constantino and Parcon were later arrested and denied the allegations, claiming they tried to pursue the suspects upon witnessing the incident./DGB, WDJ
