2017 UniGames: USLS take men’s football title on penalties

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) defeated National University, 4-3 on penalties, to capture the men’s football title at the 2017 UniGames at the Silliman University football field in Dumaguete City.

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) defeated National University, 4-3 on penalties, to capture the men’s football title at the 2017 UniGames at the Silliman University football field in Dumaguete City.
After the two teams sat at 3-3 amid the penalty shootout, after USLS keeper John Mark Jamelo managed to save a shot, Charles Dabao sealed the win for the Bacolod City school.
In other sports, Rizal Technological University won both men’s and women’s basketball competitions, sepak takraw, along with men’s beach volleyball; while the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos took the women’s beach volleyball competition.
Meanwhile, University of Sto. Tomas swept the men’s and women’s volleyball and athletics events./JSG, WDJ
