2017 UniGames: USLS beats Foundation University in football competition opener

The University of St. La Salle beat Foundation University, 5-1, yesterday at the Gov. Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium in Dumaguete City to open the football competition of the 2017 UniGames.

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) beat Foundation University, 5-1, yesterday at the Gov. Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium in Dumaguete City to open the football competition of the 2017 University Games (UniGames).

KJ Gedor opened scoring for the Bacolod City school in the second minute, however, their opponents equalized shortly after in the sixth minute.

Charles Dabao and Tristan Kit Robles helped put USLS up 3-1 at the break.

In the second half, Elimona Usman and Charles Barberan contributed to the 5-1 win.

Alongside USLS and Foundation University in Bracket A are the University of the Philippines Manila and De La Salle University. Meanwhile, Negros Oriental State University, National University, and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde are drawn in Bracket B.

In men’s basketball, STI-West Negros University was drawn in Bracket A with Rizal Technological University, Holy Angel University, and the Asian College of Science and Technology./JSG, WDJ
