Davao Aguilas FC midfielder James Younghusband scored in the 65th minute, putting the Davaoeño side up 2-0 over Ilocos United FC.

Davao Aguilas FC defeated Ilocos United FC, 2-0, in their Philippines Football League (PFL) match earlier this week at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City. The win was a first for the Davao City club.

Striker Harrison Sawyer scored the first goal in the 24th minute, while midfielder James Younghusband scored in the 65th minute.

“We are happy with the win,” said Aguilas coach Marlon Maro. “The week-long break gave us a lot of elbow room to do the adjustments and develop our style of play.”

Davao’s last PFL match was against Stallion Laguna FC, away at the Biñan Football Stadium, where they drew 2-2.

The win keeps the Davaoeño club in second to last place on 11 points, four points ahead of Ilocos United.

The two clubs play again tomorrow, October 18, at the Quirino Stadium in Bantay, Ilocos Sur./PLL, WDJ
