Filipino Grand Master Rogelio Antonio recently took the lead of the ongoing 2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship.

Filipino Grand Master (GM) Rogelio Antonio recently took the lead of the ongoing 2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship at the Osbron Hall of Ikthus Equipping Center in Bacolod City after defeating Edsel Montoya of La Carlota City in 66 moves.

Antonio is currently undefeated.

He next meets GM Nigel Short of England today, who is in fourth place.

Following Antonio on the leaderboard are GM Srinath Narayan of India and GM Duc Hoa Nguyen of Vietnam./JSG, WDJ
