In the aftermath of President Rodrigo Duterte recently issuing a memorandum shifting all drug operations from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) Team 3 chief, Police Chief Inspector Charlie Sustento, said his unit will respect the decision.
He noted, Duterte’s order means the PNP has made valuable achievements in the war against illegal drugs.
Sustento added, the PNP will work with the PDEA in providing intelligence reports in order to track local drug personalities.
Earlier this week, Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito said the president’s decision was bound to fail, claiming the move was only made to “allay the fears of the public.”/WDJ
