The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in Negros Occidental officially returned under the jurisdiction of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region VI (DENR-6) through a ceremony at the PENRO-Negros Occidental compound, Monday.
During the event, DENR-Negros Island Region (DENR-NIR) Director Livino Duran turned over the “key of responsibilities and accountabilities” to DENR-6 Director Jim Sampulna.
Sampulna said Region 6 was not complete without the Negros Occidental office, adding all remaining targets will be accomplished before end of the year.
NIR was dissolved by President Rodrigo Duterte, which forced offices for both provinces of Negros to return to their previous regional assignments./WDJ
