With the Philippine national football team, the Azkals, set to take on Yemen in the ongoing 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification round scheduled for next week, October 10, at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar, Azkals coach Thomas Dooley admitted difficulty when taking on the side from the Middle East.
“Yemen is a strong team and right behind us in the rankings,” he said. “It is a difficult and very important game for us.”
The Philippines currently leads Group F with seven points, as Yemen sits in second place with five.
In their last meeting last month at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, the two teams drew 2-2.
“I hope we can put the same pressure, like we did in the first half, and try to test the goalkeeper a little more often,” the coach added.
It was recently reported, five Ceres-Negros FC players were called up, including midfielders Iain Ramsay, Kevin Ingreso, and Manuel Ott; and defenders Carli de Murga and Junior Muñoz./WDJ
