Education officials from Negros Occidental, Australia attend conference

Negros Occidental education officials and representatives on behalf of the government of the Northern Territory, a region of Australia, met at an education conference at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City, yesterday.

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. discussed the importance of a partnership between the two regions.

Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) Vocational School Administrator, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, discussed the aim of the conference; while Provincial Public Information Officer Karen Dinsay talked about the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP).

On behalf of the Northern Territory, Director of Education Services Debra Liddiard gave a presentation about the Northern Territory Department of Education; while Tagalog teacher at the Darwin-based Casuarina Senior College, Dawnie Tagala, and Northern Territory School of Distance Education Principal Marcia Harvey provided profiles of their respective school./WDJ
