Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, recently revealed Alimodian Mayor Geefre Alonsabe and their municipal police received letters from the New People’s Army (NPA) last week, warning them about staging offensive attacks on the rebel group.

Tayaba explained, the letter originated from the NPA Coronacion Waling-Waling Chiva Command, which operates throughout Panay.
The IPPO chief, however, said law enforcement is currently on alert for such threats and affirmed police officers are not intimidated by the NPA./WDJ
