Iloilo City Acting Mayor Jose Espinosa III yesterday presented the Mayor’s Citation to Kent Lemuel G. Espaltero of Leganes, Iloilo, a double silver medalist at the 2017 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA), which took place in Long Beach, California in the United States back in July.

Espaltero, who won in the vocal world, and vocal western categories, encouraged aspiring singers to follow their dreams.

“Before, I always failed in competitions, but losing the contests did not hinder me,” he said. “Don’t give up on your dreams.”

Two Negrense singers were also winners at the said competition.

Cristiani Rebada of Cadiz City won the senior grand champion titles for vocal soloist of the world and performer of the world; while Lordcint Agbas Moratilla of La Castellana won one gold and two silver medals./PLL, WDJ
