With ongoing Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) construction throughout the city, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, yesterday announced a new re-routing scheme in the city.
He said, with DPWH currently conducting excavation work, part of a new flood control system, Gatuslao Street will only be open to southbound traffic starting Friday.
The BTAO head said an alternate route for northbound motorists would be to turn right onto Galo Street and make a left onto Lacson Street.
The re-routing will remain in place until completion of the project.
Meanwhile, in regards to expediting construction, Acebuche said DPWH workers are unable to work at night as they believe there is a high risk underground telecommunication lines may be damaged in the process./WDJ
