According to Bacolod City District Engineering Office head, Engr. Abraham Villareal, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently finalized their flood control master plans for Bacolod City.
Following recent heavy rains, which caused flooding across several areas of the city, part of the plan includes the DPWH interconnecting flood control systems, which will assist canals in draining flood waters rapidly.
Villareal pointed out, the plan will include a P280 million flood control project and the construction of a floodwall and esplanade beside the Bacolod City Government Center.
He noted, both the DPWH and the Bacolod City government will work together on the issue./WDJ
