Bacolod City District Engineering Office head, Engr. Abraham Villareal, recently announced the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) approved the third and fourth flyover projects for Bacolod City, following a surveying of the planned construction sites last week.
He noted, P50 million was also provided in order to fund road reblocking and improvements to drainage systems in the area, ahead of construction.
Villareal added the projects have also been forwarded to the National Economic and Development Authority.
In terms of the Magsaysay flyover, currently under construction along Araneta Street, after speculating it could be completed by October, in time for the annual MassKara Festival, Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya earlier admitted it would not be completed that early and reiterated the project’s initial completion date, which is towards the end of November./WDJ
