According to Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) head Donna Magno, the Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) is set to hold discussions on problems facing the city, which the CDRRMO chief identified as flooding and drought.
She said flooding is a “short term problem,” while drought is a “long time problem.”
“We will discuss how we can utilize disaster funds in order to reach and address vulnerable conditions, to minimize the effects of flood and drought,” Magno explained.
She also advised the public to remain vigilant as the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasted rain showers in the region over the next few days./WDJ
