Villa Angela won the first leg of their Negros First DFL Men’s Open semifinal over the weekend against San Carlos FC, 4-2, at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City.
Villa Angela took a 2-0 lead in the first half, following goals from Paolo Sanchez and Ricardo Garcia. In the second half, Ian Combate added to the lead, giving the visiting side a 3-0 advantage.
Late in the period, San Carlos managed to pull two back within a 10-minute time frame to get the game to a one goal margin of 3-2. However, Michael Pacite pulled off a last minute goal, putting Villa Angela up 4-2.
Villa Angela will play host for the return leg on September 17 at the same venue.
Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, La Carlota City FC drew STI-West Negros University, 2-2./WDJ
