Representatives from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Robert Kehew and Cris Rollo recently visited Iloilo City Hall to present plans to improve the air quality in the city to the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO).

“UN-Habitat has been actively working on air quality,” said Kehew. “We are glad to be working with a city that has a strong capacity like Iloilo.”

“As of now, it is premature as to what specific projects because the making of a project should be very participatory,” added Rollo. “We have certain ideas, but the city has certain capacity.”

Some of the proposed studies include mobility and access, urban heat, air pollution exposure, among others./WDJ
