Cauayan Mayor John Rey Tabujara, who is currently serving a 90-day suspension for allegedly assigning a municipal health office employee to a barangay health center, denied rumors he was planning to leave the Love Negros political coalition for rival group, the United Negros Alliance (UNegA), which is led by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.
Speculations began last month after his cousin, Acting Cauayan Mayor Rico James Tabujara, was seen at the recent UNegA convention in Talisay City, where the party established executive committees in every Negros Occidental congressional district ahead of the 2019 elections.
Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member Salvador Escalante, Jr., a member of UNegA, previously revealed the party would endorse Negros Occidental third district Representative Alfredo Benitez, a member of Love Negros, if the congressman were to pursue a run for Senate in 2019./DGB, WDJ
