Police: No gun found at the city official’s residence

After Maasin municipal police conducted a search of the home of Maasin Vice Mayor Francis Amboy yesterday, municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Jonathan Pinuela, was asked if the vice mayor, who is considered by President Rodrigo Duterte as a drug protector, was one of the people hiding drug lord Ernesto ‘Erning’ Bolivar.

“I don’t know about that,” he stated.

Following the recent death of the top Western Visayas drug lord Richard ‘Buang’ Prevendido, Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, named Bolivar as their next target.

Meanwhile, police conducted an inspection after receiving a search warrant for Amboy’s expired gun, however, no firearms were recovered from the city official’s residence.

The warrant had been granted on the basis of suspected violations to RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./WDJ
