A 400-square meter playground called “Hampangan” is set to open today, September 7, at the Silay City Public Plaza, with a turnover ceremony scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
The playground is a donation from small town lottery operator Super Lucky Beaglers, Inc. (SLBI), in partnership with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
SLBI Director Dino Jalandoni and PCSO Chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz will formally turnover the project to the Silay City government, through Mayor Mark Golez.
The area features local games such as tubiganay, sipa, piko, and tumba patis; and is constructed with non-toxic materials said to be in compliance with the highest of environmental standards.
There is also a designated story-telling area./WDJ
