Based on recent data from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), crime in the city has dropped.
Between August 28 and September 4 of this year, there were a total 77 criminal incident reports, as compared to 132 between August 29 and September 4 of last year.
“A drop in crime volume by 41 percent,” said ICPO operations chief, Police Superintendent Jowel Saliba. “We can assure our community that Iloilo City is peaceful and very livable.”
The ICPO official also asked the local community to support their cause in maintaining peace and order.
“This is not only the concern of the police but of everybody,” Saliba added.
He credited the decrease in crime to improved police visibility and putting crime prevention measures in place./PLL, WDJ
