The Iloilo City Council recently passed a resolution lauding the efforts by local law enforcement in the termination of top Western Visayas drug lord Richard ‘Buang’ Prevendido, which occurred last week in the Jaro district of Iloilo City.
“This event has many implications for the city,” explained Iloilo City Councilor Jeffrey Ganzon. “This means the weakening of drug network and it means illegal drugs will no longer flourish as it did before.”
The team, headed by Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) chief, Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, also utilized forces from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
During a visit to Iloilo in June, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, referred to Prevendido as the top drug lord of Region VI and ordered the PRO-6 to take action./PLL, WDJ
