The drug-crazed man who allegedly killed his own mother in the town of Sibulan, Negros Oriental Monday was charged with parricide by the town’s local police.
Sibulan town police chief Police Senior Inspector Nelson Lamoco said 50-year-old Roger Manaban was formally charged for the death of his mother Josephina a day after his arrest.
Lamoco said Josephina sustained 63 stab and slice wounds and her body was grossly mutilated. The town’s police chief said Roger is reportedly suffering from mental problems due to drug abuse.
He added that Roger lives alone but returned to his mother’s home last Sunday.
The suspect’s relatives said he was sent to a drug rehabilitation center in 2015 but had a relapse as soon as he left the center./WDJ
