J’ Trend faces Antones Lines in BUS Memorial Cup finals

The J’ Trend Controls (JTC) routed BACIWA, 101-80, while Antones Lines Transporters beat once again Judge Marketing, 75-67, on Monday to arrange a final showdown in the 1st Bing Uy Soyao Memorial Cup at the JGC gym at Goldenfield Complex.
The father and son-in-law tandem of Melvin Baclay and Jerel Jarobel combined for 37 points with Melvin drilling in six triples for JTC.
Meanwhile, Bert Celis and Rey Martir added 13 and 10 points, respectively, as the Controllers negated the record-breaking 36-point output of Digol Benedicto.
Boy Resaba backstopped Benedicto with 17 as Bobot Alvarez added 10 points for the Watermen.
In the other game, Judge Marketing Merchandisers was up 33-32 at the break but was outscored, 43-34, in the second half.
Hermie Derwill hit 23 markers as Boy Ohoylan added 19 points while Kokoy Fuentebella had 16 for the Antones Lines Transporters.
Ariel Tornilla, meanwhile, scored 21 points as Toto Cordero chipped in 18 points in Judge Marketing Merchandisers’ losing effort as skipper Edgar Basco fouled out of the game in the early third quarter./WDJ
