The main cast of ABS-CBN’s hit romantic drama series “A love to last,” Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, were greeted warmly by their fans here in Bacolod City during their mall show at the Robinsons Place Bacolod, Saturday afternoon.
In a press conference, Barreto said, aside from their mall show, they are also in Bacolod City for the promotion of their new movie titled “Love you to the stars and back.”
Barreto said the role she plays in the movie is an eccentric and socially awkward girl named Mika, who decides to go on a road trip with a very strange goal – to look for aliens.
In her trip, Mika accidentally bumps into a simple and good-humored boy, named Caloy, played by Garcia, with whom she chooses to give a free ride until he reaches his destination.
“The way I understand the movie, [it] is about two individuals who are going through their own personal issues [and] who have decided to deal with it by going on a road trip for separate reasons,” Barreto said.
Aside from Barreto and Garcia, also starring in the movie are Cherry Pie Picache, Carmina Villaroel, Ariel Rivera, Maricar Reyes-Poon, Edgar Allan Guzman, Joaquin Reyes, Eda Nolan, and Belle Mariano.
When asked about their status in real life, Garcia said they are more than friends.
“Actually, I’m just waiting for her to court me,” Garcia said. Barretto meanwhile, said she agrees with him, saying, “He has a special place in my life.”
“I hope he has a special place for me in his,” Barreto added.
“Love you to the stars and back” will be showing on Wednesday, August 30, in all cinemas nationwide./WDJ
