DSB hacking suspect surrenders

A suspect surrenders and admits to a hacking incident at Purok Manihan, Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental Friday evening.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Ronald Barios and the victim as 56-year-old Christopher Hian, both residents of the said purok.
Reports released by police claim Barios hacked Hian with a bolo, measuring approximately 24 inches from tip to handle, causing hack wounds across different parts of Hian’s body.
The victim was immediately brought to the Rural Health Unit of Don Salvador Benedicto for treatment, but was later transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for further medical treatment.
Barios voluntarily surrendered to the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) of Barangay Bunga and was later turned over to the responding team from the Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the municipal police./WDJ
