The Bacolod City Assessor’s Office recently endorsed to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) the proposed schedule of market values, utilized in order to assess real property tax (RPT).
The proposal has already received the endorsement from Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
According to SP Committee on Appropriations and Finance chair, City Councilor Caesar Distrito, based on his initial review, RPT rates appear to have been adjusted reasonably.
“We will ensure the revised and adjusted RPT rate increase is reasonable,” he said. “We will make it sure the rate is acceptable to both parties, the city and the taxpayers.”
“We are open to suggestions,” the city councilor added.
Distrito said consultations with barangay captains, business groups, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), and the Chamber of Real Estate Builders Association (CREBA) will also be conducted; along with public hearings./WDJ
